Pass That Everyone Who Calls Essay

" This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. Passage Analysis- Acts 2:21-47 focuses on spreading the word of God and salvation, if one is worthy. The promise is that those who are faithful and spread the faith -- or follow Christ's example, are the faithful of the Lord, and thus deserving of a generalized conclusion of salvation. The story preceeds the Crucifixion and takes place during the Pentecost festival. Scholars tend to agree that the 12 Apostles were together and that the plea was simply to renounce sin and pursue a life of goodness and spreading the true word of God. The idea that they would be filled with the Holy Spirit, and that the key to salvation was simply that ideal; nothing complicated like the past, but simple and yet devout in its simplicity.

Reflection- The personal meaning of this passage focuses on the juxtaposition...

It is not always easy to see the correct path, nor is it always easy to stay on the right track. However, this passage reaffirms that if one believes with all one's heart and soul, that belief will translate into salvation.
